Brigantine is an island city in southern New Jersey. Its neighbor, Atlantic City, might be more famous; however, the quaint beach town provides a nice escape from the nearby crowds and higher-priced attractions. Here are our tips for seeing the city for less than $100 a day.
Start your day with breakfast at Pirates Den. A favorite among locals, the casual eatery offers plenty of breakfast classics accented with fresh seafood options. Spend less than $10 on breakfast. Beach time is a must. The pristine beaches are quiet and offer opportunities for swimming, fishing, surfing and kite flying. A daily beach tag costs $8.
Enjoy lunch at Mad Dog Morgan’s. The breakfast and lunch joint offers a great selection of sandwiches, burgers, cheesesteaks and salads. Lunch costs about $10. Learn more about the history of the island at the Brigantine Beach Historical Museum. The museum preserves the island’s past with displays of photographs and artifacts dating back to the 19th century. A suggested donation of $2 is encouraged for admission.
Grab dinner and see some live music at Laguna Grill and Rum Bar. Its beachfront location is perfect to enjoy fresh seafood. Entrées start at $17.99. After dinner, stick around for a show. A list of upcoming acts is posted on the website. Tickets are available for purchase at the door. Prices vary.
