Under $100 / North America

Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska. The Midwestern city is known for its deep ties to pioneer history and celebrates its past with museums and cultural events.

Open since 1976, stop by 11 Worth Café for breakfast. The restaurant serves breakfast classics, offering repeat visitors a 15 percent discount by joining its VIP Club. Breakfast specials start at $4.99. Take a stroll through Heartland of America Park and Fountain. The public park is home to a 320-foot water jet, light show and art displays.

Plan a visit to the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. The zoo boasts a dome containing the world’s largest indoor rainforest. Price of admission varies by season, with regular adult admission starting at $14.95. Have lunch and a beer at the Upstream Brewing Company. With two locations, the brewpub serves hearty sandwiches and lunch-sized entrees alongside its tasty micro-brewed beers. Spend about $10–20 on lunch. Experience European and American art at the Joslyn Art Museum. Closed Monday, the museum is home to more than 11,000 pieces. General admission is free.

You can’t have a true Omaha experience without a meal at a steakhouse. The Drover specializes in whiskey steak — steak marinated in whiskey before being grilled to order. The restaurant has an old-school vibe with rustic décor and a no-frills menu. Dinner costs about $40. End your night at Beercade, the craft beer bar and arcade game haven.
