Under $100 / North America

Kick off your busy day in Pittsburgh at Meat & Potatoes, a downtown gastropub with a mean weekend brunch. The Brunch Charcuterie is everything you’ve ever wanted for an upscale meat-lover’s breakfast, with sumac duck ham, pork cretons, Tabasco honey bacon, eggs and toast for just $14. For the herbivores, delights such as stuffed French toast, tropical pancakes, chimichurri home fries and house-made granola are on the menu.

The Fort Pitt Museum is a step back in history. A significant fort with a strategic location at the Forks of the Ohio River, it’s now a 12,000-square-foot museum focused on the area’s role in the American Revolution and the French & Indian War. The fort sits in the historic Point State Park, which also warrants a brief exploration. The best part? Admission is only $8.

Next, head to a different kind of museum, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Dinosaurs, rare gems and minerals, Egyptian artifacts, wildlife, art and architecture — there’s a little bit of everything on display. Tickets are $20.

Hit up the original 1933 Primanti Bros. for lunch, and chow down on the many sandwiches offered. The basis for pretty much all of the menu options are the same, though — the meat of your choosing, topped with provolone, French fries, heaps of coleslaw and tomato slices, between two pieces of Italian bread. They start at just $6.

Next, it’s on to the Andy Warhol Museum, where you’ll see floors and floors of the largest collection of Warhol art. The museum isn’t just about walking around and looking at art, though. The experience is interactive, with hands-on art-making, discovery and events. Admission is $20.

For the evening, take the Duquesne Incline ($5 round-trip) up Mt. Washington, where you’ll find one of the most-visited neighborhoods in the city, and Restaurant Row, where high-end eateries line up on the edge of the mountain for breathtaking views of the city below. The historic area gets its name from a young George Washington, who supposedly mapped the region before taking his more memorable career path.

Enjoy the picturesque views from the open-air observation deck, before enjoying dinner at Bigham Tavern, where the huge menu includes nine different types of specialty mac n’ cheese, burgers, tacos and more. Dinner starts at $7.

Going the Distance: Which Airports Have the Longest Walks?

You’re in between flights and ready to find a coffee and your next gate and settle in. But then you find the signs to your gate and look down the impossibly long corridor and wonder how you managed to have the gate at the opposite end of the airport.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years.
