Lancaster is a unique destination for travelers to experience the beauty of the Pennsylvania Dutch cultures, along with stunning views of rolling fields of wheat. The area has plenty for visitors to see and explore and can be done for less than $100 a day.
To truly embrace the outdoors, try staying at Jellystone Park in Quarryville. For $47 a night, you can rent a space for an RV or tent. The campground includes many fun activities for adults and children to enjoy.
Stopping by the Green Dragon Farmers Market for Amish groceries will be a great way to save money on food for your stay. Picking up some food and heading to a park is the perfect way to enjoy lunch with a view.
In that same complex, Shady Maple Smorgasbord is a foodie’s dream come true. The large buffet has nightly specials of homemade Amish cuisine that will leave you fully satisfied. Prices change per day but will cost roughly $15 for lunch and between $20–24 for dinner.
For some free fun, stop in at local markets and gift shops for window shopping. Tour around the countryside in an Amish Buggy for only $10 at Abes Buggy Rides or visit the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society to view traditional Amish and Mennonite tools and clothing, as well as learn about the history, for a $5 admission.
