Wedding

If you’re in search of a charming and elegant Southern wedding, consider the lush and luxurious setting of Middleton Place. Overlooking the Ashley River, this National Historic Landmark is just minutes from downtown Charleston. Henry Middleton solidified the plantation, originally settled in 1705, in 1741. His son, Arthur Middleton, was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The estate consists of more than 65 acres of impeccable grounds, including America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens and a 900-year old live oak with twisting branches and veils of Spanish moss.

There are a number of ceremony settings available, from the butterfly ponds, the formal secret gardens, the cypress pond or the grand approach. No matter the time of year, the grounds are beautiful. Middleton Place also offers professional catering in a number of on-site venues for your reception.

Additionally, wedding guests can stay on the property at the lauded Inn at Middleton Place, with access to horseback riding, kayaking, pool and spa. The professionals at Middleton Place can also host a rehearsal dinner, a bridal luncheon or wedding breakfast. The entire wedding weekend can be held on-site, yet each event will have its own atmosphere due to the multiple views and situations.

More information about this one-of-a-kind wedding venue is available here.
