The Giving Keys is a company that employs homeless people to make jewelry that travels from one person to the next carrying a story. Each necklace, bracelet or ring is made with a repurposed key engraved with words like give, inspire, create, etc. Each piece of jewelry is meant to be given to somebody who represents the word engraved. Once you find someone who needs it more than you do, you give it away and track the stories behind them on their Pay It Forward Stories site.

Founder Caitlin Crosby started the company almost by accident. She was re-making a key and noticed how many keys were being thrown away. She decided to repurpose them by turning them into jewelry and selling them at her shows. She then started hiring homeless people to engrave words on them. Just like the keys, she saw the homeless population as unique and disregarded by society but with potential to make something great.

Since its launch they have helped more than 22 and counting homeless people get back on their feet with employment and their jewelry is now sold in more than 2,500 stores worldwide.

Based out of Los Angeles, the company has support by many celebrities including Taylor Swift and Anne Hathaway. Stylish, trendy and made with a good heart, these keys make a perfect gift that will travel on to tell thousands of incredible stories.
