While more and more people try vegetarian and vegan dishes as part of a larger trend of going meat (and/or dairy) free, many hesitate to try a vegan dish; vegan and vegetarian dishes sometimes get a bad rap for not being as filling or flavorful as dishes with meat, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Restaurants offering vegan and vegetarian dishes in large cities come a dime a dozen, particularly in London.
On your next trip to London, stop at one of these five vegan-friendly restaurants to try some incredibly delicious dishes across various cuisines.

This Asian fusion restaurant serves tapas-style, Indo-Chinese dishes. With two locations (Soho and Covent Garden) it’s easier than ever to plan a visit here. Serving meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes, there’s something for everyone. For a vegetarian meal, try some sticky sesame vegetables or Hakka chili paneer lettuce wraps. Fatt Pundit’s popular vegan dish is its Bombay chili mock chicken, featuring celery, Szechuan chili and mixed peppers. For sides, opt for some egg Szechuan fried rice, vegetable Hakka noodles, sweet potato fries or stir-fried broccoli.

With many locations throughout London, Eat of Eden offers the best of plant-based cuisine. The chain draws inspiration from both Caribbean and European recipes, all while using fresh and organic produce. Try a plant-based burger made from either mushrooms or beans and add a peppery green salad on the side. Eat of Eden also offers vegan curries with ingredients like chickpeas, plantains and pumpkin. To complement your food, add a glass of freshly made juice.

Open in both Soho and London Bridge, The Breakfast Club’s recently updated vegan offerings make it hard to choose what to order. In addition to vegetarian and vegan classics like scrambled eggs on toast, smashed avocado on toast and blueberry pancakes, The Breakfast Club also offers vegan versions of regular menu items. For example, order the vegan version of eggs benedict, huevos rancheros or The Works, a vegan or veggie fry-up. One of the restaurant’s specialties is its vegan Chocolicious Pancake Balls, a series of mini, donut-style, fried pancake balls dusted in vanilla sugar and served with a warm, dark chocolate ganache.

This small Ethiopian café in Brixton Village offers all-vegan food using authentic herbs and spices imported from Ethiopia. Starters include beetroot salad and samosas, while mains feature fragrant ingredients in dishes like Duba pumpkin stew, spicy and flavorful.
