In late May, Alaska Airlines launched a series of new European routes, connecting North American travelers directly to destinations like London, Reykjavik and Rome. Daily, non-stop service between Seattle (SEA) and London (LHR) began May 21, and the new route will operate year-round.
Alaska Airlines’ Seattle–London Heathrow service operates out of London Heathrow’s Terminal 3 via a Boeing 787-9.
“As we connect the West Coast to Europe in new ways, our focus is on delivering a meaningful experience that feels distinctly Alaska – warm, thoughtful and elevated at every touchpoint,” said Andrew Harrison, CCO, Alaska Airlines. “For our guests in the United States, we’re opening more convenient access to Europe with the airline they know and love, and for our guests in Europe and beyond, we’re bringing our signature West Coast hospitality to every step of the journey, reflecting the comfort and care we’re known for.”
On May 28, Alaska Airlines also launched nonstop seasonal service to Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF), with the daily route timed to coincide with Iceland’s peak summer season. The service will also allow travelers to visit one of the best viewing spots in the world for the August 2026 total solar eclipse.
In April, Alaska Airlines launched non-stop service to Rome (FCO).
Looking ahead, Alaska Airlines will introduce a new, world-class lounge to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The lounge is slated to open in late 2027 and be the largest airline lounge in Seattle and one of the largest in the country.
