Billed as an auxiliary battery charger the size of lipstick, the PowerCore Mini portable charger from Anker is one of many options you have these days for a way to juice up your phone on the go. But Anker’s is reliable, cheap, small and tops.

Though slightly larger than lipstick, the charger is still small enough to be unobtrusive. Larger Anker products are closer to the size of your phone and may not provide much more juice. The mini can charge an iPhone 6 to full battery in two hours, and it will still have some battery life leftover for additional charges before you have to reload it.

The charger is also lightweight, so you’ll barely notice you’re carrying it. Plugged into your phone, the entire ensemble fits easily into a jacket pocket or small purse.

At just $12.99, the product is a great deal. The only downside is you won’t be able to charge your device more than about 1.5 times, so if you need something more powerful, or don’t plan to be able to charge up the device each night, for example, you may want to spring for another item.
