Art Galleries in Wales

Take a look at these art galleries if you fancy soaking up a bit of culture during your trip to Wales.

First up is the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea. Housed inside a famous building in the middle of the city, this gallery is home to a varied collection covering local artists and international masters.

Next up is the Martin Tinney Gallery in Cardiff, founded in 1992. This place focuses on Welsh and Wales-based artists, with a largely contemporary collection.

Over in Llandeilo you will find the Fountain Fine Art Gallery housed among the colorful houses and markets of the town. It forged a strong reputation thanks to a great program of exhibitions drawing on the works of local and international artists.

Another good spot is the Oriel Davies Gallery, which runs 10 exhibitions per year across three spaces. It’s run as a charity, too, so anything you spend here is going to a good cause.

BayArt Gallery is part gallery, part workshop space that works to improve local understanding of contemporary art. The team works with artists who work in the 16 studios nearby to educate locals about art and get more people interested in the scene.
