Situated on the westside of Midtown Atlanta, Atlantic Station features a live, work and play experience. Shopping at big-box retailers like Dillard’s, H&M, Ikea and Athleta is the main draw, but a cinema and seasonal events, like movies in Central Park, also attract visitors. During winter months, a Skate the Station pop-up arena offers ice skating at the largest rink in the southeast.
Although Atlanta is mostly a driving town, it’s possible to live and work around Atlantic Station without the need for a car. Apartment complexes and condos are available on site, as well as surrounding the general area. Popular dining options for locals include Pho 24 Vietnamese Noodle House and The Pig and the Pearl smokehouse and raw bar.
The village concept of Atlantic Station makes it feel more like an outdoor destination than a shopping mall, making it a desirable option for locals looking to escape the big-brand shopping malls in nearby Buckhead. However, you’re still entrenched in one of the most heavily trafficked areas of the cities, and making your way in and out of Atlantic Station can feel tedious.
If you can look beyond the construction and traffic going on in the general area and enjoy the experience, it’s easy to spend your day wandering in and out of the Atlantic Station shops. Afterward, hop on the free shuttle to the MARTA Arts Center Transit Station in nearby Midtown. Although it’s not the most seamless transportation, it alleviates the need to navigate the city’s tangled streets and enjoy the experience Atlantic Station offers.
