Tips / Travel

If you’re hitting the road this Thanksgiving, you’re likely to encounter varying levels of stress. From busy airports and canceled flights to traffic jams and missing something on your packing list, stress hides around every corner. Don’t let these situations get you down. Follow our tips for avoiding stress during Thanksgiving travel.

Be Prepared

One of the best ways to combat stress is to stay organized. Whether you’re traveling by plane, train or automobile, download apps to make the trip seamless. Use Waze for navigating congested roads or download your airline or train app so you can keep all of your important travel information in one place.

Pack Light

Unless you’re taking an extended trip, opt to pack only a carry-on bag. There’s nothing worse than arriving to your final destination to find your suitcase didn’t make it. The airline won’t lose your bag if it’s with you at all times. Packing light is also helpful for train or car travel. You’ll have more room in your car and you won’t have to lug a heavy bag through the train station.

Leave Early or Off-Peak

If you’re flying or taking a train, get to the airport or train station extra early. Even if you hate waiting, it’s better to have extra time ahead of your departure instead of starting your trip by running to catch the flight or train. If you’re driving for your holiday, try to leave at an off-peak time to avoid rush hour.

What to Do During a Trip to Morro Bay, California

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.
