Best Budget Airlines for Winter 2019

Finding the best flight is a matter of practice and patience. Keeping an eye on all the airlines seems to be the No. 1 strategy. There are, however, still airlines that give you more value for your money than others.

When flying across the Atlantic,WOW air is still consistently a bargain. It has been around since 2011 and operates out of Iceland, but found itself struggling in recent months. Skift just reported Frontier Airlines will probably step in to save WOW so it can continue. This is good news for winter 2019 travelers since fares will be honored and will remain low.

Once in Europe, Easyjet is still high on the list for budget European airlines and, in particular, if you are flying to the eastern Mediterranean. Germanwings is Lufthansa’s budget airline and operates under Eurowings out of major German cities and is a good, central hub for affordable flights. If you are looking to go to smaller cities in Wales or Scotland, check out Flybe. This airline is exceptionally affordable and serves 15 countries from 80 different airports. The bulk of its traffic is focused in the United Kingdom and France, but they fly as far east as Warsaw and as far south as Dubrovnik.
