Krabi has around 200 islands surrounding its coastline. Some of the islands are mostly made of rock formations and not accessible for travelers. Others have stunning beaches, a vibrant nightlife and welcoming people. Anyone who travels to this part of Thailand must spend a few days island hopping to get the real experience of Thailand’s islands. The most popular and well-known island near Krabi is Koh Phi Phi, a haven for young backpackers looking to meet other backpackers and have a memorable time on a Thai island. This is definitely the spot to catch a great party. Some of the parties last all night and the alcohol is served in buckets. For anyone ooking for a quiet time, this might not be the best island to choose.
Koh Yao Yai is a less-populated, offbeat island. It has an exotic look to it with traditional Thai vibes. It’s great for those looking to immerse into the culture and learn more about Thailand. The best thing to do is go kayaking through the mangroves or bike around the island. Pack a camera to take plenty of pictures because you won’t want to forget this trip.
Koh Jum is another island off the beaten path. The beach is gorgeous and has coral sand, and the hills are covered in coconut tree plantations. For travelers looking to have a beach experience to themselves, this sleepy island is perfect.
