Central America is a good place to learn Spanish because classes tend to be affordable and the accents aren’t too pronounced.
This is especially true in Guatemala, where the locals speak clearly compared to some other Spanish-speaking countries. Some of the best schools are based in the tourist town of Antigua, including Antigüeña Spanish Academy. For $200 per week you can get tuition, with a homestay for an extra fee. Another option is Don Pedro de Alvarado Spanish School.
Elsewhere in Guatemala, there are good schools on the shores of Lake Atitlan. San Pedro Spanish School and Cooperative School in San Pedro La Laguna are both good options, while Spanish School Jabel Tinamit in Panajachel is equally attractive.
Down in Nicaragua, Granada is a popular city to learn the language. Book a course at Casa Xalteva Education and Cultural Center and enjoy everything the city has to offer. Other top schools include Colibri Spanish School in Matagalpa and Apoyo Nicaragua Intensive Spanish Language School at Apoyo volcano near Managua.
In Honduras, Copan Ruinas is the best place to learn. Copan Spanish School and Guacamaya Spanish School are both highly recommended by former students, and worth taking a look at.
