Whatever your sport of choice, there are museums around the world dedicated to the preservation of the history of various sports and the athletes who left an important mark. Check out these museums whether or not you’re a sports fan.


Hockey Hall of Fame 

Toronto’s ice hockey museum is home to the Stanley Cup, the trophy awarded to the National Hockey League playoff winner. The museum features memorabilia, player and team exhibits and hockey videos.


Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame 

The museum and hall of fame is located in Springfield, Massachusetts. Visitors can participate in interactive exhibits including live clinics and shooting contests at the museum’s full-sized basketball court. Learn more about the game’s origins here.


National Baseball Hall of Fame 

Located in Cooperstown, New York, the National Baseball Hall of Fame is a must-see for baseball fans. The museum and hall of fame offers exhibits related to the history of America’s favorite pastime and the men and women who played it.


The Olympic Museum 

The museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, celebrates the Olympic spirit, with temporary and permanent exhibits related to the history of the games. In addition to the more than 1,500 artifacts and audio/visual presentations, the museum hosts educational events and special programming for visitors.
