Few places are as beloved, and famous, as Biscuit Head in Asheville, North Carolina. This popular restaurant — there’s actually four of them now — has been featured on television and in books throughout the world. But does it live up to the hype? I’d have to say a resounding, YES!
I absolutely love visiting Biscuit Head while in town. From the friendly staff to the vibrant atmosphere and, of course, delicious biscuits, there is nothing to complain about. This isn’t exactly your typical breakfast joint, so don’t expect to find pancakes and waffles on the menu — it’s pretty much all biscuits, all the time. With so many different flavors, it’s not hard to find something to satisfy your taste buds.
I prefer the Cajun benedict and Mimosa fried chicken biscuits myself, but have always been tempted by the pulled pork biscuits, too. Of course, sweets lovers have to try the biscuit donuts. When it comes to drinks they stay creative with fun fare, like the Sake Bloody Mary and the delicious Maple Bacon Latte.
Biscuit Head, no matter which one you go to, is always packed. Expect a wait no matter what time you plan on going or call ahead and see if you can book a table. The prices are fair, the staff top-notch and the biscuits are simply incredible. If you’re a fan of Southern cooking, you’re likely going to love sitting down here for a meal.
