If you’re looking to book a new cruise experience for 2023, you may want to consider the new small-ship expedition offerings from PONANT. The cruise line partners with Smithsonian Journeys and the Smithsonian Institution to offer educational and immersive cruise experiences that you certainly won’t find with a mega-ship cruise line. You have five new cruises from which to choose.
The 2023 PONANT-Smithsonian cruise season kicks off in January with an Arabian Coast cruise traveling from Dubai to Muscat. Special itinerary items include discussions with Karl Eikenberry, the former U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, as well as stops at the Burj Khalifa and the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Two Smithsonian cruises are offered in April 2023, one sailing from Indonesia to Australia, the other from Morocco to Spain. The former takes place during a total solar eclipse, while the latter highlights architecture, art and history along the Portuguese, Moroccan and Spanish coasts.
A May 2023 cruise spends eight days circumnavigating Sicily. The cruise includes visits to Greek ruins and volcanoes.
Lastly, in October 2023, PONANT gives travelers an opportunity to cruise with the Smithsonian Institution in the Eastern Hemisphere, with a cruise from Quebec and through the Canadian Maritimes. Travelers will explore Canadian coastal towns, as well as Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, Maine.
