Travelers have used Booking.com for years to find hotel rooms, private apartments and alternative accommodations, as well as to book tickets to special events or rent a car for their trip. But only recently has Booking.com announced it is slowly rolling out the capability for customers to book their flights directly through the website rather than being redirected to another flight-booking site.
Through a partnership with eTraveli, some (but not all) travelers in eight European countries can now book flights through Booking.com. Residents of these countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom) can log into Booking.com accounts, search for flights and book directly through the website with eTraveli’s help.
Previously, and for users outside of these eight countries, customers were/are redirected to Gotogate, a brand under the eTraveli umbrella, to finalize bookings, or are redirected to Kayak (a sister company of Booking.com) to browse search options.
Depending on the success of the service in these eight countries, Booking.com may seek to expand the capabilities to other countries, moving the site one step toward its future of becoming a full-service online booking agency.
Getting through airport security can be a nightmare in and of itself, adding extra hours to your trip that could better be spent in any number of more enjoyable activities. Programs like Global Entry and TSA PreCheck are helping to make the process a little more bearable, but a new program, CLEAR, is quickly emerging as an up-and-coming way to make things even easier.
Located on a flat corner in Barcelona’s Poble Nou neighborhood, a site for many a tech startup or already established tech giant (like HP Enterprise and Booking.com), Sopa serves as a perfect lunch spot during the workday. The cafeteria-style eatery lets you fill up on vegetarian and vegan dishes and either dine in, take the food outside to the patio dining area or take it back to the office for a lunchtime meeting.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) is the largest airline in Japan. With flights from the United States to Japan and all of Asia, it's the perfect airline to book your next trip with. From ANA's amazing in-flight food to its excellent customer service, it comes as no surprise ANA has been awarded five stars for its seventh consecutive year by the SKYTRAX World Airline Rating.
