Created in partnership with Netflix and Shondaland, The Lanesborough, London invites guests to indulge in its new afternoon tea service inspired by the hit series Bridgerton. The experience will whisk guests away to a time of elegant parties, grand dinners and beautiful balls, adding a contemporary twist for a unique tea service.
Situated in the hotel’s richly decorated dining room, guests sit beneath the domed glass room amidst the glow of softly lit chandeliers. From Wedgwood china mounted on the walls to nearly 250 different moldings adorning the bas-relief artwork, the room exudes elegance and refinement.
The Lanesborough’s Head Pastry Chef Kevin Miller carefully curated a menu paying tribute to the main families featured in the series. Finger sandwiches and brioche sliders will include Coronation chicken with fresh coriander; Clarence court egg mayonnaise with whole-grain mustard; smoked salmon with horseradish and watercress; organic cucumber, natural yogurt and mint; and rare roast beef sliders with black pepper mayonnaise and onion seed.
Accompanying the savory bites, Chef Miller offers guests Lanesborough’s scones, cream and jam, as well as his curated cake and sweet treat concept featuring five signature highlights. These include The Queen’s Diamond (hand-crafted chocolate blended with honey, green cardamon and white chocolate ganache displayed in a jewel-colored ring box); The Rake (a chocolate sable cake with milk chocolate mousse and a burst of whipped passionfruit curd center, finished in a dark chocolate glaze, chocolate shard collar and a whipped passionfruit cream Chantilly cravat); A True Love Match (layered Charlotte vanilla sponge cake layered by the seasons, with strawberry jam and vanilla twisted cream); The Lady Whistledown (a cake featuring a pistachio nut financier and pistachio mousse, coated in milk chocolate and cocoa butter); and All is Fair in Love & War (rosewater cheesecake with a burst of raspberry jelly in the center with a crumble crunch base coated in sprayed-blue white chocolate).
Guests can also enjoy the Pall Mall Cocktail, inspired by the original Regency Gin Punch. This cocktail combines Hendrick’s gin and Graham Blend No5 white port with citrus for a subtle sweetness. The cocktail is served in an elegant high glass tea cup with a tea strainer filled with hibiscus flowers to infuse the drink with a pinkish color. As an homage to the Indian culture portrayed in the show, the cocktail’s garnish features a floating lotus flower arrangement.
