Amsterdam is known for being an expensive place to stay given its popularity with people from around the world, but you can still get your head down on a budget.
Top of the list of affordable options is Cocomama, a hostel that looks like it should be charging a lot more than it does. You can get a dorm bed for a reasonable $22, or a private double room for around $84. For that, you get to stay in an incredibly well-designed space close to all of the main attractions.
Ecomama is another well-appointed hostel that offers amazing dorm beds from around $30. There are also private doubles for around $92. It’s not the cheapest hostel around, but it will likely be one of the best you’ve stayed in.
A slightly cheaper option is ClinkNoord Amsterdam, where a dorm bed is $26 and a double $88. It’s the first Clink hostel outside the United Kingdom as the mini-chain expands its empire.
Generator Hostels are also a familiar name to European travelers, and the Amsterdam location is a great place to stay. Bag a dorm bed for $19 or a double for $94 in an amazing building near the trendy De Pijp neighborhood.
