If you’re on a budget in Amsterdam check out these cheap eats for when you get peckish in the Dutch capital.
FEBO is a local chain of vending machines that serve hot snacks at bargain prices. There are hamburgers, sandwiches and much more, but locals swear by the $1.70 kaassouffle, a deep fried packet of cheese.
Mezrab is a theater that also serves food before each performance. For $6 you can get a hearty portion of Persian soup and then watch a show, which you then donate as much as you feel like for the pleasure of seeing.
Happyhappyjoyjoy is an Asian street stall that serves tapas-style dishes. The $6 crispy chicken bun seems to be a favorite option with the regulars.
Fancy pizza and pasta? Try Pizzeria Rimini, which offers both dishes at the magic $6 price point.
Asian-style chain Wok to Walk has a presence in many European cities, and offers its tried and tested formula of noodles with meat or vegetables in Amsterdam, too. It’s super filling and will only set you back around $5.
Try the Turkish pizza at Isikogullari and you’re in for a real treat. There are lots of varieties available, ranging in price $2.50–6, an incredible bargain.
