Northern Ireland is an increasingly popular tourist destination, and it can be a cheap place to go. Here are some of the best budget eats in the capital city of Belfast.
First up is Tex-Mex joint Boojum, a firm favorite with locals. You’ll get a huge, tasty burrito for just $7, and it’s always busy for good reason.
Stick with the Latin American flavor at The Cuban Sandwich Factory, owned by immigrants from the island. With sandwiches from just $6, this place is great value. Pop in for a quick bite or take out a sandwich to eat while you walk around the shops in Queen’s Arcade nearby.
For a sit-down meal of great food on a budget, try Hadskis. This is fine dining on a budget, and you can get two courses for $13. There is a good selection of wine, too, but stick to water if you are really counting the pennies.
If you are keen for a taste of the Indian subcontinent, try Bollywood Spice. It’s a 20-minute walk from the middle of town, but you will love the $8 dishes, such as lentil dosa and vegetable sambar. You won’t forget this tiny little place, mainly for takeaways.
