Celebrate Havana’s 500th Birthday in Cuba

Happy birthday, Havana! The city’s 500th anniversary is coming up this year, and you can experience it to the fullest when you take one of Austin Adventures’ new itineraries in honor of the event.

The new Cuba — Havana’s 500th Anniversary Adventure itinerary starts at just more than $5,000 and is eight days of fun, Nov. 10–17, with the anniversary date falling Nov. 16.

“This is going to be a major party, and I’m already on board,” said Kasey Austin Morrissey, vice president of operations, Austin Adventures, and co-host of the one-time itinerary.

“After a short hiatus away and now under a new government permit, we are confident we can once again offer Cuba in a way we feel it needs to be done,” added Dan Austin, founder, Austin Adventures. “Creating a trip to celebrate Havana’s birthday was the logical way to kick-off our new trip series. After all, something like this comes around, well, every 500 years or so!”

The itinerary includes classic Havana activities, like riding in the iconic vintage automobiles and touring a cigar factory. Other activities include horseback rides, visits to Trinidad, uncovering the history of sugar production, a private Cuban guitarists concert, exclusive museum tours and a mixology class.

If you can’t make this celebratory itinerary, Austin Adventures also hosts a Trinidad to Havana itinerary, with many of the same experiences, for a few hundred dollars less, in 2020. Departures are scheduled Jan. 26–Feb. 2, Feb. 23–March 1 and March 22–29.
