April 28 marks the celebration of National Superhero Day. While everyone has an opinion of the best superhero, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the iconic characters that are an integral part of pop culture today.
Host a movie marathon party. Whether you like DC or Marvel, choose your favorite superhero movies and have a viewing party with your friends and family. Ask your friends to dress up as their favorite superhero. Vote on the best costume and give him or her a prize or simply bragging rights.
Book a trip to a filming location of your favorite superhero film. While Spiderman’s Daily Bugle newspaper may not be real, the building serving as its headquarters in the 2002 film is (New York City’s Flatiron Building). Though some movie scenes were filmed on soundstages around the world and others were created digitally, there are still plenty of places you can visit in person.
Head to your local comic book store to experience superhero source material. Pick out some comics of your favorite superhero, or discover something new while supporting a local business. If you have a little superhero fan in your life, spend some time reading your new comic books with them.
