Check Out Washington, D.C.’s, New Art Avenue

Next month, you’ll have the chance to check out an immersive new experience in Washington, D.C.’s, Golden Triangle Business Improvement District. Art Ave is an outdoor art gallery that will feature 13, large-scale, museum-quality sculptures and three blocks of window art. Art Ave will stretch over multiple blocks of Connecticut Avenue NW, as well as Farragut Square; art installation will begin mid-month for the early September debut, and it’s expected the art collection will remain in place throughout the holidays.

“Art Ave underscores the power of public art and reimagining public space to reshape how we experience cities,” said Leona Agouridis, president and CEO, Golden Triangle Business Improvement District. “The whole experience is about creating joyful public spaces for District residents and visitors while supporting our local businesses, and inviting people to explore and marvel at unexpected discoveries downtown.”

Art Ave will be more than just art, though. It will also include a series of cultural events, including lunchtime weekday performances, art walks and Saturday family-friendly programming. A self-guided Art Ave walking tour will also be available, and several pieces of artwork will include interactive elements.
