DAVE Red Athens Hotel: Luxury in Athens Without the Expense

Brown Hotels recently launched DAVE Red Athens, its first international outpost from its ‘DAVE – Son of a Brown’ line. As the fourth property to open from Brown Hotels’ affordable urban collection, DAVE Red Athens offers comfort and modern amenities without the expense of other luxury hotels.

Located in Omonia Square in Athens, Greece, the new hotel features 87 rooms, each adorned with exposed pipes, concrete walls, marble top surfaces and oak wood furnishings. The rooms also include nostalgic gadgets like vinyl players with original records and vintage rotary telephones. DAVE Red Athens hotel offers guests a choice of four unique room types: Urban, Foxy, Foxy + and Urban+ Balcony.

Each room comes with a walk-in shower room, Olive Era bath products, Egyptian bed linens and towels, high-speed WiFi, a minibar, Nespresso machine and 43-inch television. The Urban and Urban+ Balcony rooms boast queen beds while the Foxy room features a super king-sized bed.

The ground floor of the hotel includes a bar and restaurant, as well as a soon-to-launch underground nightclub accessed through a secret door in the Brown Hotels library. The all-day dining concept of the restaurant allows guests to enjoy the breakfast buffet and á la carte menu, with dishes like the signature Six D.o.g.s beef burger and an exciting cocktail list. DAVE Red Athens Hotel also invites guests to unwind on the hotel’s roof terrace, offering a spacious sundeck with a pool table, Jacuzzi hot tub, massage room and complimentary sparkling wine on tap.

The hotel lies within the former headquarters of the KKE (Communist Party of Greece), and guests can admire a wall mural at the entrance of the hotel’s mezzanine to learn more about the building’s history. The mezzanine also allows guests to enjoy some down time, with a bar, pool tables, original Nintendo and Pacman consoles, arcade machine, intimate balcony with hammocks and adjoining meeting room with blackboard walls.
