Loyal Delta Air Lines passengers who haven’t had the chance to upgrade to first or business class are now able to experience some of the perks of these classes even when flying in an economy seat, making long-haul economy travel just a bit more rewarding and comfortable.

On international flights of 6.5 hours or longer, passengers in Delta’s economy seats can now enjoy a free welcome Bellini cocktail, a combination of Champagne and peach purée, an homage to the airline’s origins in Georgia. Passengers also will receive other first-class and business-class benefits like a hot towel shortly after take-off as well as just before landing; the option to choose premium appetizers or a larger entrée for their in-flight meal; and free snacks from the airline’s “anytime snack basket.” For an extra touch of class, economy passengers also will receive complimentary wine with their meal as well as upgraded cutlery and dishware and free treats just before arrival.

As one of America’s top three airlines, Delta’s initiative to extend benefits of first class to those in economy — which went into effect in November 2019 — can be attributed to its desire to remain at the top and encourage economy passengers to choose Delta for international flights over other airlines that don’t have these services.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
