Discover Airlines Debuts Ocean Blue Long-Haul Cabin

Five years after its founding, Discover Airlines made the largest investment in the company’s history with plans to equip the long-haul fleet — a total of 16 Airbus A330-300s —with new cabins. The first aircraft with the new design will begin flying April 2027, with all aircraft equipped by mid-2028. After the conversion, each Airbus A330 will have 288 seats: 227 in economy class, 31 in premium economy and 30 in business class.

The new plan, known as Ocean Blue, will boast strong blue tones, clear shapes, selected color accents and fine detail, as well as Human Centric Lighting to support passengers’ biorhythms with different light colors.

“With this investment, we are setting new standards for long-haul holiday flying. Five years after our founding, we are investing a three-digit million sum specifically in comfort, quality and the travel experience of our guests. This is a clear commitment to the further development of Discover Airlines. Economy Class

By optimizing seats, passengers will enjoy more legroom and a comfortable seat angle in the future, with a six-way adjustable headrest and additional storage space.

Premium Economy Class

With Ocean Blue, the seat will use an innovative hard-shell design and can be adjusted without disturbing fellow passengers. A discreet privacy screen, large seat recline, an integrated leg rest and built-in reading lamps offer more comfort.

Business Class

Thanks to the 1-2-1 configuration, each seat offers direct-aisle access. Those traveling in pairs will appreciate an adjustable privacy divider. Seats will convert into a flatbed with more privacy, personal space and storage options as compared to today.

Business Class Suite

A special highlight of Ocean Blue are two new Business Class Suite seats in the front row, offering sliding doors, 32-inch monitors, a generous open footwell, more space and storage, and an extended culinary offer.

Ocean Blue will also deliver for state-of-the-art technology with significantly larger 4-K touchscreens and integrated Bluetooth functionality in every class. In economy, USB-C ports are available at every seat; business and premium economy offer USB-C ports, as well as wireless charging. In the future, all aircraft will receive an upgrade to the fastest, currently available, in-flight internet from Starlink, available to guests free of charge.
