The first voice-activated smart wallet, Ekster is also the slimmest smart wallet on the market.
How does it work?
The wallet is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This means you can locate your wallet by talking to your smart speaker or you can use voice command on your phone via either of the two apps. Either will make your wallet ring or it will tell you where it was last seen on a map.
The ringing function is made possible by Chipolo, which creates some of the world’s slimmest and loudest tracking devices. The trackers in the Ekster wallet are .09 inches and Bluetooth 4.2 capabilities mean the ringer connection has twice the connectivity range.
Each tracker has a unique QR code that links it to your smartphone, so, if your wallet is found, someone can scan the QR code, sending you a message to let you know where it is. The tracker network has worldwide capabilities.
Additionally, the wallet has a solar-powered tracking solution, which only requires one full charge in order to operate for two whole months. You never have to worry about a low battery meaning you’ve lost your smart wallet for good.
“This is the first solar-charged smart wallet on the market, which means you won’t ever have to charge or replace your tracker batteries,” comments Richard Canneman, cofounder, Ekster.
The wallet does not require direct sunlight to charge and it only takes three hours to charge fully. The same solar technology is being used by companies like FedEx to track containers.
Additionally, the wallet is RFID blocking and has a luxury look with premium leather. It can hold at least 12 cards, and holds six cards in a trigger mechanism that allows you to eject cards for use without actually opening the wallet.
