Located in an inconspicuous courtyard off of Katharina-von-Bora-Straße 8A, close to the city center of Munich, the Electric Elephant is a multipurpose space known as Mixed Munich Arts or MMA. It is part social club, part music venue and it has a café-bar-restaurant that is welcoming.
The club operates a few times a month with bands that definitely draw crowds for dancing. If the weather is nice, grab an excellent coffee and hang out in the atmospheric, but inconspicuous, courtyard. If you are there for the restaurant, grab a table. If you have a large party, you will want to book ahead because it will fill up. The kitchen seems to close by 11 p.m., so do not go in hoping for food if it gets too late. Plates are small, but delicious. The menu varies, but it is always Southeast Asian with a good selection of curries, rice and tandoori. If they are serving fried sweet and sour cauliflower, you must order as many servings of this as you can get your hands on because it is delicious and you may never have it again.
This spot is ideal for a dinner with friends. Grab some bottles of wine or beer and relax!
