Jet lag can affect even the most seasoned travelers. Unfortunately, no matter how much some people try, they are always down for a few days of recovery after arriving to a new place. It takes time away from sightseeing and enjoying the country you’re visiting. This can also take a toll on those in the business world that travel often for their jobs. Thankfully, an app was created that can help with jet lag and maybe get rid of it for good. It’s an app that can help plan out your sleep time before, during and after a trip. The app does its best to help people and it seems successful so far.
Researchers at the University of Michigan developed the app that connects users to lighting schedules designed to avoid jet lag. The schedules are mathematically proven to adjust you to new time zones quickly. The creators behind this app are all extremely intelligent and tested it several times before rolling it out.
According to the website, they use light to simulate your body’s clock or circadian rhythm to keep you on schedule. The app records your light history and recommends the changes in behavior that will get you back to full capacity as quickly as possible. The app will first ask several questions to determine what time your body thinks it is at that moment based on the light exposure. The app then works to direct you to expose yourself to the right amount of light at the right time, resulting in adjusting faster.
