Looking for a fun trip that can also be educational? Washington, D.C. is the perfect mixture of both. Tour some of the historic destinations to learn during the day and then head out to play at night. Washington, D.C. has so much to explore, it might be hard to decide what to do.

If you are a fan of the Night at Museum movies, you know the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History looks like a great place to explore. It features many different exhibits and boasts free admission, so, if you don’t get to see everything you wanted, head back later if time frees up in your schedule.

The Lincoln Memorial was built to honor the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It features a giant statue of the president and is a must-see while visiting the nation’s capital.

The White House is one of the most popular landmarks in Washington, D.C. Although it is hard to get a tour, it is still cool to see the outside. Tours are served on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can send in a request ahead of time, but it is still not guaranteed.

If you have time, catch a show at Ford’s Theatre and see the spot where Lincoln was assassinated.
