Begin your budget journey with Clarity Money. While the set-up takes some time, the app lets you sync all of your financial movements in one place. You will need to log in to various payment outlets through the app, including your bank account, student loans, credit cards and more in order to track your spending. The app can identify recurring payments you might have missed (that “free” ClassPass trial, in my case) and breaks down your spending habits by week, month or as often as you check.

Mint: Personal Finance and Money app allows users to track upcoming payments, stick to budget and stay up to date on their credit score. Sync your bills, credit cards, investments and more and stay in control of your own finances.

For something with a little more focus on growing your money, Acorn app lets users invest spare change and make a little money in the process. Like a piggy bank for investments, Acorn rounds up everyday purchases and uses the spare change to invest as little as $5 a day, week or month — your call.
