First-Ever Traverse City Food & Wine Festival Announces Lineup

The inaugural Traverse City Food & Wine Festival will showcase the best of the Midwest this August, with a full lineup of events taking place throughout the region during the multiday festival.

More than 30 events will take place. Celebrity chef Tyler Florence headlines with a four-course tasting dinner at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, where the acclaimed chef worked early in his career. Mei Lin, Top Chef winner and Michigan native, joins Florence and several other award-winning chefs for cooking classes, demonstrations, discussions and more.

 

A Grand Tasting will be held Aug. 23, 12–4 p.m., featuring small plates from local and guest chefs, and samples of more than 100 local wines and craft beverages. Other scheduled events include winery estate dinners, winery-hosted cookout, National Writers Series discussions, a 5K run/walk through vineyards, food and wine pairings, farm tours, progressive tastings, and cooking demonstrations at Traverse City Farmers’ Market.

“The region’s unique climate, the bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and diversity of high-quality agricultural products create a culinary atmosphere worth celebrating,” said Trevor Tkach, president, Traverse City Tourism.

 

Traverse City Food & Wine takes place Aug. 20–24. Tickets will go on sale soon ahead of the August event.
