Florida is known for its year-round warm weather, which means locals miss out on a true winter experience — snow. All is about to change with the opening of Florida’s first snow amusement park, Snowcat Ridge Alpine Snow Park. The winter park will bring all the fun of winter activities without the freezing cold temperatures.
One of the main attractions is a 60-foot-tall, 400-foot-long snow tubing hill called Snowy Slopes. The slope features tandem rides along with family-style snow tubing. Riders will be transported to the top of the slope by using Magic Carpet conveyor lifts. Your general ticket includes a two-hour snow tubing session, but you can upgrade to the Unlimited Snow Tubing ticket.
Take a break from the snow and hang out in the Alpine Village, featuring plenty of different vendors offering food, drinks, beer, wine, shopping and more. Head to the holiday market to shop from an assortment of vendors selling craft goods throughout the holiday season. After food and drinks, get cozy by the campfire and roast s’mores in the viewing area.
Once you’re all rested, head to The Arctic Igloo, offering thousands of square feet of snow — perfect for building a snowman. This space boasts a bunny slope for riders under 42 inches tall, designed especially for children aged 3 and younger.
Don’t forget to stick around for Snowy Slopes’ nightly music and light show, which can be viewed from both Snowy Slopes and the large viewing area in the Alpine Village.
The Snowcat Ridge Alpine Snow Park will open Nov. 20–March 28, 2021; click here to buy tickets.
