Miami is known for many things. It’s one of the most visited cities in the world and regularly tops the wish lists of travelers for future plans. The city is diverse and welcomes people of many different backgrounds with arms wide open. The nightlife is well known for crazy nights and parties that last all night long. The city is not known for being cheap or affordable, but there are, surprisingly, many activities people can participate in for free.

Fans of music can find many free shows or classes in Miami. For example, on the last Friday of each month, the Museum of Contemporary Art has a free jazz night. It’s open to the public and lasts 7–10 p.m. This is a great way to spend a nice and relaxing evening enjoying jazz music.

Athletic travelers who miss their daily workouts can bring a bike to tour the murals in Wynwood on Sundays at 11 a.m. It’s a 90-minute ride with a local artist who explains and points out the artwork. It’s a great way to see the city more and appreciate the art that comes with it. Or, head to Bayfront Park every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for a yoga class. The classes are taught by a certified yoga instructor.

Swim through coral for free at Biscayne National Park. For travelers who don’t have snorkeling gear it’s still fun to walk around the beach and take in the sights. If someone is looking for a great place to hike, Bear Cut Nature Preserve has 3.5 miles of trails for hiking and biking and great views of the marsh.
