Port-Gitana is the only hotel right on Lake Geneva — and it just reopened following a makeover.

The property, which enjoyed great popularity in the mid-1900s, was originally founded in 1875. Today, it offers just fewer than 20 guestrooms, a lakeside eatery with a terrace and views of Mont Blanc as well as the lake.
The recent renovation, which took more than two years, transformed the property with a Modernist aesthetic emphasizing the boutique hotel’s surroundings, prioritizing natural light. Guestrooms and suites, for example, feature large bay windows and balconies. The new restaurant similarly highlights the hotel’s setting, with a menu focused on local products. Meanwhile, the bar’s design has been inspired by a Lake Geneva teak boat.

Commenting on the hotel’s new launch, Benjamin Luzuy, founder, Gourmet Brothers Group, which stood at the helm of the property’s redevelopment, said, “We are delighted to introduce this exceptional destination to travelers, and also to offer people from French-speaking Switzerland a privileged lakeside getaway in Geneva. Our ambition is to create a true haven of peace and gourmet delights, just steps from Lake Geneva and facing Mont Blanc.”
