While Kissimmee is known for its proximity to Orlando’s theme parks, it also offers plenty of natural landscapes, perfect for a variety of outdoor activities. With fall ushering in cool weather, it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Check out these fun activities:
Rock Climbing at Climbing at Nona Adventure Park
For a fun yet challenging outdoor adventure, Climbing Tower at Nona Adventure Park is the place to go. The park features 50-foot climbing walls, a ropes course, wobble walking bridge and the Leap of Faith. Travelers can test their strength and race their friends.
Kissimmee Lakefront Park, surrounding the shores of Lake Tohopekaliga, is the perfect place to get some exercise while enjoying lakeside views. The park has a scenic path around the lake where runners and walkers can enjoy a peaceful workout. If biking is more your thing, there is also a well-maintained path for bikers. For those looking to get out on the water, large Lake Tohopekaliga offers both kayaking and canoeing.
Hiking at Shingle Creek Regional Park
Combine exercise with nature at Shingle Creek Regional Park, offering miles of scenic hiking trails through Florida’s wetlands. There are different trails offering varying difficulty levels in the park, so make sure to do your research beforehand to find the right one for you. After your hike, visit Pioneer Village, an open air-museum, to learn more about Osceola County’s early settlers.
Additionally, if you want to participate in a specific event held in Kissimmee, here are some fitness events to look forward to:
