Foodies should book their trips now to attend the Caribbean’s newest culinary event. Anguilla plans to host the Anguilla Culinary Experience, May 11–15. The event brings together regional and international chefs to create a bevy of experiences at some of the island’s best luxury properties. Anguilla has long been considered a top culinary destination in the Caribbean. Within only 35 square miles, the island offers more than 100 local restaurants and zero commercial chain restaurants.
The experience includes three signature events: an opening night party at Cap Juluca, an afternoon rosé soirée at Malliouhana and a Caribbean-style beach barbecue at Meads Bay. Other items on the event calendar include culinary competitions (with mystery baskets in the style of Food Network’s Chopped) and fixed-price dining and wine-pairing experiences. Throughout the event, attending chefs will present a range of special, limited-time offerings at the various participating venues, incorporating Anguilla’s local produce and seafood.
Interested in attending? There are two ticket bundles available. Both bundles include entrance to the three signature events, as well as credits toward one fixed-price meal. The VIP ticket bundle includes access to extra exclusive events, such as rum tastings and intimate, chef-led dinners. Tickets start at $425 per person. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Anguilla National Culinary Team and Anguilla hospitality training programs.
