Hallam Smart Travel Jacket

The Hallam jacket is a customizable piece of clothing that works in conjunction with your smartphone.

Each of the jackets contains an H badge, a small circular device that allows you to control your smartphone. It will let you know about push notifications you receive, let you control media players and even help you find your phone if you lose it.

The H badge communicates with a small near field communication device fixed to your phone. Hallam also makes H rings and H hats which also allow you to control certain smartphone functions without taking your device out of your pocket.

Aside from the technology, Hallam has built in a huge number of features to its jackets. For starters you can choose from five different styles, from a hooded sweatshirt to a wool jacket. Most of the jackets come with a detachable hood, a neck pillow and a sleep shade to help you get some rest on the road, while all of the models come with separate pockets for valuables such as your passport and jewelry.

Prices start from $289 for the sweatshirt, rising to $349 for the wool jacket. The Hallam range was subject to a successful Kickstarter campaign, and pledges will be fulfilled by January 2017.

Add-ons such as a battery pack and LED safety lights increase the functionality of your jacket for $69 and $59 respectively. There has been no confirmation of availability after the Kickstarter campaign, but you can visit the company website for further details.
