The Haven Tent is the perfect compromise between traditional tents on the ground and uncomfortable hammocks. The tent rests in the air but doesn’t leave your body squished, offering you a comfortable night’s rest without rolling around in the dirt.
The tent uses a combination of spreader bars and structural arcs to create an open platform to sleep on. It hangs along a single ridgeline wire between two trees, and can be adjusted depending on the width between them. It also doubles as a place to hang your gear away from hungry animals. The Haven Tent includes an air mattress with horizontal tubing to lie on, while also providing insulation to help keep you warm. It fills easily using an internal foot pump and goes from flat to full in just 60 seconds. When there are no trees in sight, the tent also works perfectly as a bivy.
The inside of the tent is spacious with a length of 78 inches and a width of 23. The height is 34 inches, offering plenty of breathing room. All together the whole system weighs just less than six pounds.
The Haven Tent currently comes in two color options — forest green and sky blue — and is made with rip-stop nylon for durability. The tent doesn’t come cheap, but at $315 it’s more than worth the money.
