While many newlyweds opt for an island or beachside vacation for their honeymoon, more and more folks opt for a more culturally diverse experience to celebrate their new lives together. Honeymooning in Auckland, New Zealand, is a great option for anyone seeking out a cosmopolitan city that offers great shopping experiences, epic adventures and incredible cuisine.

Auckland is a haven for travelers seeking outdoor adventure. Rangitoto Island, one of the city’s 48 volcanic cones, is just a short ferry ride or kayak trip away from the city. Here, you’ll find epic opportunities for hiking, fishing or caving. The nearby Mount Eden, a dormant volcano covered completely in grass, is a mere three miles from the city center and provides breathtaking, panoramic views of the region.

For a romantic adventure, hop in a car and drive two hours south to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. This world-renowned attraction features thousands of glowworms dangling from the ceiling and lighting up the cave system in a brilliant blue spectacle. The Viaduct Harbour, New Zealand’s answer to Sydney’s Darling Harbour, offers more than 30 bars and restaurants, along with the famous New Zealand Maritime Museum for those seeking some fun along the port.

While Sydney might be a more popular destination, Auckland offers an arguably better experience for honeymooners with terrific adventures and reasonable prices you won’t typically find in neighboring Australia. Frankly, the scenery is often much better too!

Riad Le Bel Oranger, Marrakesh, Morocco

In the loud, busy and often overwhelming medina of Marrakesh, it can be difficult to find a tiny sliver of solace in which to rest after spending hours negotiating for the best market prices. But one riad truly exemplifies the characteristic of “tucked away,” as it’s located a few connected alleyways from the noise and congestion.

Leave Troublesome Rideshare Worries Behind

We can see it now and remember when it happened to us: Watching as the black car icon loops around and around, seemingly endlessly, and our wait time on the rideshare app continually changes. Long wait times and confused drivers are just a few bothersome issues that can nag at rideshare users. Need a solution? Ditch rideshares altogether in favor of renting a car on your next trip.
