Trends

Female solo travel is officially taking over, becoming one of the fastest growing segments in global tourism. A 2025 Booking.com survey showed more than 60 percent of American women plan to travel solo within the next two years.

Women aren’t just traveling alone, though; they are also traveling differently. Female solo travelers prioritize safety, cultural immersion and emotional transformation journeys, which differs from classic vacation packages or activities. One woman headlining this movement is Doni Belau, an award-winning travel expert and founder of multi-award-winning Girls’ Guide to the World, a women-only travel company.

Recently, Girls’ Guide released their largest-ever collection of women-only trips for 2026 ,which includes 85 curated journeys across 51 continents, designed to reflect the way women are choosing to travel. Solo female travelers can expect trips like wellness-centered escapes in Moloka’i, culinary expeditions through China and culture-rich adventures in Madagascar.

Over the past 16 years, Belau has studied the travel behaviors of women, designed small-group itineraries for tens of thousands of women and tracked travel trends evolution. Today, she puts together trips to allow women travelers to see and explore the world with other women who share an affinity for experiencing the beauty of destinations and the spirit of adventure.

If you are looking for the ultimate solo female trip for 2026, take all the stress out of planning and check out Girls’ Guide to the World itineraries.
