Florida is home to many alligators. They are all over the state and the people who call Florida home constantly have to be vigilant when it comes to gators. For those visiting the state, they might not be used to sharing space with an animal who could cause serious harm if provoked. To begin, it is more likely to be struck by lightning than to be attacked by a gator. Just because there are alligators in Florida does not mean visitors are attacked regularly or even that they spot alligators every day.
