Tips / Other

Watching people compete on national television is engrossing. Thousands of people watch reality TV or shows where normal people get the chance to live a new life. How do they get those roles? There’s no exact science to how recruiters choose the contestants, but, from watching years of TV, it seems they go for certain types of people.

Do research on the TV show and make sure your application or video display you with a similar attitude as the previous people on the show. For example, someone auditioning for Are You the One? should show hey have big personality and are willing to cause drama. Shows like that thrive from drama and situations that cause conflict.

For shows like Survivor, it’s better to simply talk about yourself. The show seems to pick a wide array of people each year. There’s no set personality type they’re searching for, like other shows.

Another helpful tip is to practice exactly what you’re going to say during the interview process. Besides the audition, the interview is the most important part. Stay calm and try to answer all questions. It’s great when someone knows a lot about the show or organization.

It might help to have a social media following. Certain shows will only get ratings from the public being engrossed in on-camera conflicts or by promoting a person who has a lot of “likes” on social media. That element can help a potential candidate get one step closer.

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
