Travel can be expensive these days, especially if you are flying. Airlines tack on all these extra fees that jack up the price. One of the more expensive fees is checking a bag. Since checking a bag is so expensive, more people opt to bring carry-ons. If you are going on a longer trip it might be hard to pack everything you need in that small bag. Here are some tips to fit more in a carry-on.
While packing for a trip, being organized can go a long way. Have a spot in your suitcase for everything. If you keep things that are alike together, it may create more space for other things. Take advantage of the pockets in your suitcase to fit things like your hairbrush, toothbrush and other toiletries or accessories.
Another way to fit more is to roll your clothes instead of folding them. This makes the items smaller and easier to fit together since they are all folded in the same shape. I have a hard time with over-packing and I find when I roll my clothes it creates more space for other things.
Another tip for fitting more in a carry-on is to put things in your shoes. Your shoes take up a big part of the suitcase. If they are sneakers or slip-ons take advantage of the space inside the shoe. This is a perfect place to store things like socks and underwear.
