How to Make the Most Out of a Daytrip to the Beach

Tips / Travel

One of my favorite things to do when the weather gets nice is take daytrips to the beach with my friends; we try to do one every couple of weeks to make the most of summer. Spending a day at the beach may seem like plenty of time, but between traveling, finding a parking spot and locating a spot on the beach, time adds up.

Leaving early will help with a lot of things, like beating traffic, finding a parking spot and getting to the beach before the locals take the best spots. Packing your beach bag the night before helps save time in the morning; you won’t have to worry about running around to make sure you have everything at the last minute. Before leaving, make sure to have your bathing suit on so you can head straight to the beach when you get there.

Pack a lunch, snacks and plenty of water in a cooler; this way, you won’t have to waste time getting off the beach to find something to eat and wait in long lines. Water is important to help keep you hydrated throughout the day.

Bring along anything you need for the perfect beach day; we always bring towels, chairs and a speaker to listen to our favorite tunes.

Staying on the beach until the sun sets or finding a local restaurant for dinner helps you beat traffic on the way home and is the perfect ending to a day at the beach.

What to Do During a Trip to Morro Bay, California

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.
