Whether you’re a Type A traveler who likes to plan every minute of your vacation or a more laid-back traveler who tends to figure it out as you go, it’s never a bad idea to organize an excursion or two with a tour company. Doing so lets you completely relax while someone else leads you around while your only concern involves snapping the best photo for Instagram. Finding the best tour company involves a bit of research, though. Here are a few things to keep in mind to find one that suits your interests.
Make a list of your interests and priorities. What are “must-sees” you can’t leave your destination without visiting? How long do you want to tour an area with a designated tour group? What do you want to be included in the price? These are all factors you should consider before your research begins.
Gather information. Once you’re set on your interests, research traveler forums; browse your favorite Facebook travel group; and pose questions among your friends and work colleagues.
Investigate the company. Once you’ve narrowed down your options delve a bit further by researching the company’s background, reviews and tour options. Don’t be afraid to ask them to clarify any negative reviews. If they’re a reasonable and legitimate tour company, they will welcome your questions and be communicative throughout the booking process.
