HUB Restaurant and Ice Creamery is the perfect place to escape the scorching Tucson sun. The brick-lined building in the heart of downtown offers a cool atmosphere, delicious cuisine and some truly scrumptious homemade ice cream.
The menu at HUB features a wide variety ranging from classic American burgers to lasagna, or even enchiladas. The HUB wings served in a spicy buffalo sauce were a perfect precursor to the perfectly cooked pork belly. The restaurant also offers great lunch options with soups, salads and sandwiches, and a few brunch specials that feature great midday drinks.
The ice cream is where HUB truly shines. The menu is large and varies, but features many of the classics you’ve probably come to expect. I sampled a few of the options and found the Drunken Bunch and S’mores to be top-notch, but the Rocky Balboa was pretty close in third place. They also have rotating options depending on the season, though I can’t speak to the taste of any of those.
The atmosphere of HUB is welcoming, with 80s music blaring from the speakers on a busy afternoon. The staff was wonderful and happy to offer suggestions, and the views of Congress Street from the window seats were perfect for anyone who enjoys people watching with their food. I would absolutely recommend HUB Restaurant and Ice Creamery to family and friends.
